Knowledge management: the basic concepts for workplace libraries'
17 February 2004, London
Knowledge management is difficult to define and implement and it can also be costly in terms of time, human resources and technology, but it has been agreed that it is the essential basis of effective competition in the knowledge economy. Understanding Disability
17 February 2004, London
This practical workshop will consider issues such as physical access for wheelchair users and others with mobility difficulties, making information and recreational reading accessible to visually impaired people, and meeting the needs of people with hearing difficulties - a disability which is often overlooked. There will be opportunities to share experience, to look critically at what is already being done in participants' own services, and to think about ways for improvement.
