We order very few theses at the moment, but as with Edinburgh we send them
as normal with our other ARTTel requests, then fax/post a TDF if it's
required.

Hi Vicky
Edinburgh University sends thesis requests in the same way as any
other request - via ARTeL. We usually fax the TDF to them, but only
when they ask for it - we see no point in wasting money on a fax just
for them to say they can't supply the thesis. We do the same when
applying elsewhere.
This usually works very well. However, having said this, one request
seems to have been unlucky because we have had to fax it 3 times to
BL

Dear All
Please can I find out how you send your theses requests to the British
Library ?
In a long standing tradition, we have always sent ours by post on a
valueless BL thesis form. However, we have had one or two problems recently
with Thesis Declaration Forms going astray and BL have told us that this is
because we use their valueless forms.
So - we are trying to decide the best way to improve our request policy.
Should we be sending the requests electronically and the TDFs in the post or
does this cause more problems than it is worth ?!
Any opinions gratefully received.
Best Wishes
Vicky
