BRING YOUR INTERNET PROBLEMS TO PHIL BRADLEY ON CILIP'S MEMBERS' DAY
Internet guru to offer free surgery to visitors to CILIP's Showcase event
You've read his essential Internet advice in Update each month. Now here's your opportunity to have your own free mini-consultancy from Phil Bradley if you attend CILIP's Members' Day and AGM on Thursday October 23.
Phil Bradley, acknowledged Internet expert and author of the regular 'Internet Q & A' column in CILIP's monthly Update magazine, will be holding an Internet surgery during CILIP's Showcase event between 10:30 and 13:30 at the Institute's Ridgmount Street offices. Visitors to the CILIP Showcase will be able to bring him their knotty Internet problems and get instant advice - with a live online demonstration if appropriate.
"I'm thoroughly looking forward to this session; if the questions that I get asked are even half as varied and interesting as those I get for the Update column I'm in for an enjoyable time," comments Phil Bradley. "I don't promise to be able to answer all your questions, but I do promise to give it my very best shot."
This rare opportunity to seek free advice direct from one of the profession's leading Internet gurus is offered only to those who personally attend CILIP's Members' Day and AGM. The day's events are open to all with an interest in CILIP: the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, although only CILIP members may vote at the Institute's AGM in the afternoon.
Events run from 10:30 am and give both CILIP members and any others with an interest in CILIP who care to drop by an opportunity to learn at first hand about the breadth of professional support that the Institute provides. Visitors can join staff and members in a coffee and a pastry at CILIP's London offices in the morning, while meeting the people behind CILIP's various services: Information; Training & Development; INFOmatch; Facet Publishing; Membership, Careers & Qualifications; Members' Advice Services; International Services; Consultancy Services; and Awards & Events. Then the afternoon's events continue at the nearby School of Oriental & African Studies with the address from CILIP's President Margaret Watson, Fellowships and Honorary Awards, the AGM, and a keynote address from NHS University Chief Executive Bob Fryer.
