hi

everyone

i have uploaded a new file

20-Jun-2003 13:59 26K JISCMAIL Programe of discussion Topics

URL is
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/files/FISH/Programme_of_Discussion_Topics_for_Jisc
Mail_FISH_Forum_e.doc

or you can look in the files section of the list archives

http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/files/FISH/

This file details a programme of key dates for discussions that are coming
up

What is the programme?
The programme is developed to augment the general news and discussion that
is undertaken on the main JISCmail list. It can include a series of E-
conferences and Discussion Topics that are meant to address specific issues
identified by members of the forum.

The Programme is not set in stone and it not meant to replace or restrict
discussion. Issues can often arise without warning all forum members should
feel free to post to the forum, however it is possible to develop a
programme of discussions that address issues that the forum needs to
consider.

If you wish to raise a Discussion Topic or an E-Conference please contact
the list owner.

Discussion Topic
These are specific issues that need to be addressed by the forum.
„h The submitter should post onto the forum a short (no more than 1000
words) description and comment of the issue and topic.
„h The discussion should not take longer than 1 week.
„h The submitter should precise the discussion at the end.
„h The submitter should provide a date for when the discussion is to take
place.

E-Conference
An e-conference is a much larger series of Discussion Topics. Those
conducting an E-Conference should follow the guidelines as written by
English Heritage Data Services Unit.

Programme of Discussion
September 18-12 Discussion Topic on MIDAS 2
What do we want MIADAS 2 to do? What should it include?
What should it exclude? (Edmund Lee)

October 6 ¡V10 Discussion Topic on INSCRIPTION
What needs to be improved about INSCRIPTION, What is good about INSCRIPTION
(Jason Siddall)

Upcoming Discussion Topics and E-Conferences
July/TBC
Discussion Topic Maritime and Aircraft recording issues, MIDAS 2
Information Scheme - English Heritage

If you have any ideas for a discussion that you would want to raise please
e-mail me.

Note as stated above this is not meant to replace or force people to follow
some set procedure but allow the forum to see when a discussion is coming
up and prepare for it and be around so they can be involved. As we move to
developing MIDAS and INSCRIPTION this mechanism could be very important and
helpful.

Many thanks
Jason A. Siddall
