UK ARCHIVAL THESAURUS PROJECT: WORKSHOP ON
THESAURI AND SUBJECT INDEXING IN ARCHIVES
4 December 2003, University of London Computer Centre.
This free workshop will provide an overview of developments in the
UK Archival Thesaurus (UKAT) project, which is developing a
subject thesaurus for use in UK archives. As background to UKAT,
the workshop will also look at issues surrounding the recent use of
thesauri by archives and archive projects. Participants will be
encouraged to bring examples of subject indexing problems and
issues so that these can be discussed with the UKAT team.
Attendance is free and is open to archivists and users of archives.
Places are limited to 40, so no more than one attendee can be
