The 2003 Summer School of the European Economic Association will be held
in London, from 8th to 12th September, at the Institute for Fiscal
Studies (IFS). The topic of the summer school is "Microeconometrics".
The local organisers are Richard Blundell and Frank Windmeijer. The

The required prerequisite knowledge of econometrics is of the level of
William H. Greene's textbook, Econometric Analysis, (5th edition), 2003,
Prentice Hall.
The language of the school is English.
The school is open to students from European Universities engaged in the
preparation of a doctoral dissertation or approaching this stage. The
attendance will be limited to a maximum of 35 students. Some will have
the opportunity to present their own research for discussion. Applicants
who are nationals from a Member State of the European Union and
Associated States may benefit, upon request, from financial support for
accommodation and travel expenses.
Application:
To participate, submissions should arrive at the address below not later
than May 31, 2003. Admission decisions will be made available in July
2003.
Note that participants are requested to participate in the whole
meeting. All applicants must submit a completed application form,

of support from their Ph.D. supervisor and copies of any (un)published
work relevant to the subject. Those interested in presenting their own
research must also submit an abstract (maximum of 200 words/2 pages)
and, if accepted to present a paper, are expected to deliver a complete
paper in time for distribution among participants. Submissions by email,
under the subject of EEASS2003, are strongly recommended.
