There is still time to register for the 5th Southern Institute for Health
Informatics (SIHI) Conference to be held at the University of Portsmouth on
Thursday 12th June.
The conference is aimed at clinicians, senior managers and system
developers both within the NHS and in companies supplying products and
services to it. Academics with research or teaching interests in the above
areas will also find plenty to hear and talk about.
What does it cost? £60 (with discounts for multiple attendees from the same
organisation) which includes lunch.
There will be sessions on telemedicine and e-health, patient records and
other applications.
Confirmed speakers include:
Prof James Barlow from Imperial College talking about mainstreaming telecare
Dr Joseph Britto from the ISABEL medical charity talking about clinical
decision support at the bedside
Peter Knight, Head of IM&T at Winchester & Eastleigh Healthcare Trust, on ICRS
Dr Nick Robinson from NHS Direct Online on "Power to the Patients"
Helen Sampson talking about the UK Council for Health Informatics
Professions (UKCHIP)
Also, for the first time we have a contingent of speakers coming from
Scotland and the North of England to tell us about some initiatives taking
place there.
If you intend to come along and have not yet registered, please do so as
soon as possible.
