Apologies to non-Brits!
I'm trying to gather references for a talk a colleague is giving about consumer health on the internet. Its an international one, and she is to focus on the UK ,with this remit:
> a British perspective reviewing:
> * How patients are shaping current and future internet services
> * How British sites have responded to patient need
> o Information provision - meeting the needs of diverse cultures
> o Moderated chat rooms
> o Other examples
>
I've already done a PubMed search and mentioned things like DIPEx, DISCERN and NHS Direct Online/touchscreens, plus the Samaritans email service and info in Welsh, and the small amount of DoH information in community languages.
Does anyone know any background on relevant initiatives, or relevant journal refs?
Thanks!
(links to some of the things I have mentioned are on a webpage currently at http://www.fmclean.ukonline.co.uk/chi.htm)
