Is this a private party or are other people welcomed?
It's a list, how could it be a "private party?" though
maybe it's a test to see how well poets follow directions
to "please ignore," of which we are all likely doomed
to fail. Though I hope this doesn't mean a spate of
bad, in every sense, Salome poems, even if they do scan
and rhyme, since I personally feel it's all just bad rap,
oops, _a_ bad rap, since there wasn't a dance of the seven
veils, it's just a myth, which oddly reminds me of that
Muppet movie where Kermit the Frog lisping a little, says
"it's just a myth" to Fonzie Bear and the waitress turns
and says "yes?" And, well, the poor girl, her mother made
her do it. And as for that buttered head with asparagus
that seems to take it into another realm altogether, a Peter
Greenaway movie, not the Muppets, but what the heck, you can't
blame a girl who has only one shoe and has to scrub and clean all day for her wicked stepmother and
sisters for being a bit huffy? I just hope this doesn't mean a deluge of "popular"
verse from any number of characters out of fairy tales with
an axe or silver platter to grind.
Best,
Rebecca
