Hiya Arni
the secret existence of posh in Learchester is closely guarded, especially
as the natives are rather proud of having a reputation of being virtual
Neanderthals. Kermode's book is definitely worth reading, I thought it the
best of his I'd ever read, it begins with his childhood in the Isle of Man
and goes up to his war service in the Brit Navy (including a Monty Pythonish
account of a lieutenant - pronounced 'leftenant' for all those US
illiterates - who killed himself in Liverpool by living exclusively on a
diet of, if I remember right, pork luncheon meat).
I'll be interested to hear the facts of the Theosophists, is that a
contradiction in terms?
I'm all for quackers lists, the word quackers was my mum's pet name for me
as a child as that was what I always called ducks when about 3 years old.
All the Best
