'Artemisia'
English version by Anny Ballardini
A sorrowful word
I am experiencing today
oblique mirror of a reinstated
word
inaccurate phase
of being a he or a manuscript
added to my register
of a kiss on a stripped breast
a stroke delivered to my head
consequent to my loss of sight.
Today I am present to the past
without allurement or support
lying beside my brother
beside my dead sister.
This blossoming rose
this kiss which is a grimace
on Artemis' painful nipples
land of unappeasable waters,
my mirage.
(originalpoem by Erminia Passannanti)
