My regrets, that was meant to be b/c to cris but I was referring
to this message of apology to the list, so I'll try sending it
one more time before I send my confirm unsubscription mail.
Dear cris and list,
I'm sorry if my post put you in some impossible situation. And
in thinking about it, I agree with you that, while I meant
the post as a parody, you are right to view it as too specific
in context and content and as ad hominem attack. So I apologize
to you and to the list for that post and agree that it was, despite
my intent, an ad hominem attack and that such posts, however
intended, have no place on the list, particularly if there is
to be enough civility to discuss anything of interest. And
I didn't intend to imply that Marcus was the only source
of such attacks, I'm afraid that I've written too many posts
on this front and back channel that I've forgotten in which
venue, I said which. Anyway, I do apologize and will be
unsubscribing from the list, I have too many things to attend
to at the moment, and this is entirely too hostile an
environment at present.
Take care,
Rebecca

I appreciate you apologising for stoking up the rhetoric. I don't
appreciate
however your taking the opportunity to have another dig by pointing out
Marcus as the source of most of the attacks. That is especially so in a
follow up to a post expressing:
> I don't intend to keep going with this
You've put me in the near impossible situation now of just waiting for
Marcus to drop his promise and then say that i take a dim view of it and
then the whole thing carrying on or possibly having to sling both of you
off
the list. I don't want to bounce anybody.
But you can't sling mud casually in passing or and then hope that's the
last
word on the matter.
Whether or not your post was a parody or a satire does not change its
intended target(s). It wasn't a satire of any old list - although in
years
to come it could be read as such. neither was the subject of the satire
any
old list poster. It wasn't addressed, for example to Messrs. X,Y and H. No
doubt it can work as a piece in its own right. In this context at this
moment given recent histories though it has been received as license for
further escalation.
Marcus is a capable poet too. Doubtless this will bring the best out of
him.
love and love
