btw here, but an Iranian Kurdish refugee who has sought refuge in this
country and is living in Nottingham and has previously been granted asylum
and who faces political murder if he returns has sewn up his eyes, ears and
now mouth with black cotton in protest at the sudden reversal of decision by
the Home Office which has now summarily decided to extradite him. He has
done this as an act of protest not only on his behalf but also on the part
of all oppressed refugees. I can't spell his name as I've only heard it
unclearly on the radio but maybe we should all spare a thought for that
brave and suffering man. It gives a rather wider context to disputes on
poetry lists too, yes?
