We migrated onto a test server (Sun Blade/Solaris) with 6 already installed
and it took best part of 18 hours to trundle over the wires. We've left
pretty much everything on since day one so have about 15k users and around
350 courses. But it worked fine.
Blackboard have also assured me that it is possible to migrate from 5.5 to 6
sideways on the same server - but that we may well need help to achieve it.
