Marika,
I understood Dr Ben Anthony of Sheffield taught courses on Black History. I
know he travelled to Nottingham for 30 session courses at our Afro-Caribbean
Family and Friends Education centre here when working with the late Len
Garrison, who was then the director.
I have recently seen him at Brewhouse Yard Museum when we did a presentation
on George Africanus to the Nubian Link's summer Kulture Kollege. Dr. Ben
Anthony was teaching black history to 20 high achieving black youths. He
was also interested in the extensive collection of Nigerian material that we
have from the 1870s.

That there is nothing we can recomment - or no course of Black History that
I have heard of - is a very pointed reflection on academic
attitudes/practice in this country. However, I thought the univ. at Coventry
had Caribbean studies courses.
