Ian,
We have used the Telex M-60 desktop microphone (designed for VR)
successfully. I think the product is now the M-560,

Although this has worked well for our clients unable to use headsets, but
able to drive up to the desk with the microphone, I understand the VR
experts prefer to use an audio input rather than the USB input used in the
M-560 as they report that rapid switching in the USB port may compromise the
quality of the VR.

Subject: Alphasmart wheelchair clamp etc
Hi, thanks for the suggestions for the query about accessible recording
device for CP client.
I really must use this list more --- for example, a recent client with MS
causing involuntary muscle spasms. She likes to type and can do so albeit
quite slowly. she's used an alphasmart in the past but her spasms can
cause her to throw it off her lap or around the desk. I'm sure I've seen
a wheelchair clamp for an Alphasmart in the past but can't seem to track
one down. Any ideas.
Also - She has quite good consistent speech and was able to train up
voice recognition software. she cannot bear to wear a headset on her head
(though is going to try it over a peaked cap to see if that helps!).
Anyone know any alternative solutions that can help keep the mike at a
constant distance from her mouth?
Regards
Ian Francis
