MRC PhD studentships
MRC Biostatistics Unit
Cambridge
The MRC Biostatistics Unit has 3 studentships available to start in October
2003. The interests of the Unit are wide ranging from applied statistics to
general statistical methodology with applications to the biological sciences.
The studentships include a stipend of 10000 pounds per annum (under review) and
Cambridge University fees for students who are UK citizens. EC citizens are
eligible for fees only. Applicants from countries outside the European Unit are
not eligible for research council funding. The successful candidates will be
registered at Cambridge University and postgraduate degrees will be conferred by
them.
Ideal candidates will have or be about to get a first class or high 2:1 honours
degree in Mathematics or Statistics and preferably a masters degree in a related
subject. Candidates with a strong background in bioinformatics or statistical
genetics are also invited to apply.
