Hi Mary,
My personal favourite is the Crosbie Gate, which can be either a single gate
or two in-line. they work like a rail crossing gate, lifting and folding to
one side and are counterbalanced so that lifiting the gate takes almost no
effort and they are modular so can be built to more or less any dimensions.
The two in-line setup has a locking device so that the second gate can't be
opened till the first is closed ~ again very easy to operate.
