Árni's comment about spam prompts me to ask a question of fellow
petcerers - how much spam do you receive? My spam problem has
ballooned to extraordinary proportions, and made my email unworkable
while I was o/s. I have bought a spam filter, which has done great
things for my e-life, but I am considering changing my bigpond
address, since I think (in common with other bigpond clients) that
their database has been somewhat less than secure. I realise that
it's a problem for most people, but I'm wondering if other people get
as much as I do - ie, easily around 100 spams a day -

Hi Alison,
(how much is this list writing? I have about 100 messages to read... yours
has just arrived)
I do receive spam, but something like maybe ten messages a day, and I still
think they are too many. Yes, a good server can help. I also think your
email address should not appear on public sites, like your weblog, or on
Masthead. This is what also might make you so vulnerable to undesired mail.
Care, anny
