Information Officer

EMIE's purpose is to facilitate the exchange of information on education
management policy and practice between local authorities in the UK.
We wish to appoint an information officer from July 2003 to assist in the
maintenance and development of our databases and website, and to facilitate
networking between authorities through our email discussion groups. Duties
will include:
Supporting the maintenance and development of EMIE's Cuadra STAR databases;
assisting with the implementation and ongoing development of our new
contacts database; managing two email discussion forums; and assisting the
Web Manager in updating and maintaining the website.
The successful candidate will have a post-graduate qualification in
information management or librarianship; good personal and communication
skills; possess highly developed IT skills and a keen interest in advancing
electronic information services; and ideally, some knowledge of recent
developments in public sector education.
