Dear colleagues,
Again many thanks for your replies. Whereas it seems that
some of you may be having a good service from Hays, others
certainly are not! Books being left by the side of the
Derby ring road, in cages, or just loosing twelve books in
a year cannot be defended to my mind! It also seems that
when a problem has arisen, on several occasions it has not
been dealt with in a satisfactory manner.
The Royal Mail has dumped some of my correspondence in the
past - when they went through a phase of using infill sites
for this purpose - but they have never dumped a
book/parcel as far as I am concerned. On the whole we have
received a reasonably good service from them - when they go
on strike here is always a dicey time, and also Christmas
when they are overloaded - so I do not send books on loan
in the days coming up to the Christmas holiday for this
reason. So in all I do think they are the preferred method
of delivery, but I shall be discussing this with my
colleague when she returnes from leave on the 20th October.
Thanks
