I agree also with Sandra. The book involved in the incident to which she
referred in an earlier email came from my library. I have now seen the book
concerned and, fortunately, it is not damaged. However, the principle is
wrong. If the book had been an older volume, it could have been badly
damaged by the impact from having been slung through the iron gates of the
main Bodleian Library and also by any adverse weather. I would like any
returning our books not to use Hayes, who seem to behave in such a 'cowboy'
fashion .
