Debbie,
We have a stand alone subscription to Uptodate. If you look at their website
www.uptodate.com you can look in detail at the different pricing structures.
A stand alone allows access to anyone but only from a single workstation.
The networked version is priced on number of Physicians in the institute, I
think. The doctors who use it think it is excellent.
At present we have it loaded on a pc over in the main hospital where it is
only really accessible to medical junior doctors and consultants. It is less
useful to surgeons. We did have a licence for another copy in the library
but couldn't afford to renew it this year. I would recommend it for Core
Content but suspect the costs would be extremely high.

Hi Debbie,
I've looked into subscribing to Uptodate as a growing number of consultants
have asked for it and as you say they've been pushing hard for it - even
talked about cancelling a large no. of journals. It is very expensive and
the cost is calculated on a number of doctors/number of beds basis. For us
it worked out at around £10,000 a year.
Since there appears to be a high demand is it something we should be asking
Core Content/Aditus to look at getting?

Does anyone subscribe to Uptodate. If so how much is a site licence and how
well used do you think it is?
I have a consultant pressing hard for it, in preference to textbooks!
