Gerry,
thanks for this. A couple of queries...
1) The original MEG draft at
http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/metadata/education/documents/ed-level.html
implies (I think) that GCSE covers the whole of SCQF levels 1-5 (with SCQF
4-5 corresponding to GCSE grades A-C). Your table indicates that GCSE
corresponds to SCQF levels 4-5 only. Is one or other table worng, or have
I misinterpretted things?
2) The RDN uses qualified DC metadata internally. If RDN decides to go
with SCQF levels in our metadata, do people agree that the following
mechanism for encoding SCQF looks reasonable?
<dcterms:educationLevel xsi:type="rdnterms:SCQF">
Level 5
</dcterms:educationLevel>
One final question. It would be nice to associate an updated version of
the explanatory text currently in the old draft, e.g. the equivalent of
http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/metadata/education/documents/ed-level.html#intermedLevel
but associated with each of the SCQF levels in your table. Is this
something you are planning to do?
Regards,
Andy.
