Hi Guys
Today (11/12/02) the Nursing Standard published the story of Anita.(page 9).
Anita, a specialist Cardiac paediatric Nurse who was exploited in this
country has finally got her happy ending.
I recall mentioning this before, but now as we have the 'happy ending'
published, I hope we can encourage other nurses who are in similar
situations to come forward.
If you know of anyone in this situation, we want to know
Regards

Children's NSF - Consultation for Nurses
The acute/hospital standards for the children's NSF, due to be published
shortly, has focused on setting standards for children and young people
when they either attend or are admitted to hospital.
During the work undertaken by several of the other modules there have been
interface issues with the hospital module which to date have not been fully
addressed. To ensure all these areas are addressed, a new external working
group has been established. This work will be known as "the ill child" and
will concentrate on:
· Access to advice, support and treatment for children, young people and
parents when the child or young person is ill, other than an in-patient in
hospital. It will include the specific issues for access to services when a
child or young person with on-going health needs become acutely ill.
· The needs of the ill child or young person with on-going medical
conditions which are not disabling, but who require care or ongoing support
in their own home, school, primary care settings and other locations.
This covers many nursing issues, especially community nursing. To ensure a
broad range of views and ideas are taken into consideration we are looking
for nurses to contribute at a consultation event. The consultation will
take place on 10th January 2003 in London.
If you are interested in participating please send an email by 6th December
2002 stating your area of speciality to: [log in to unmask]
Invitations will be sent out after this date.
