Subject: 12 January: Stars of the Mariinsky-Kirov in London
*** St. Petersburg stars to perform in Charity Gala, London, 12 January 2003 ***
On 12th January 2003, the Russian-British Cultural Association, with the
support of the Russian Economic Forum, is organising a very special evening
of dance, opera and instrumental masterpieces at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on
London’s South Bank.
The concert will feature appearances by award-winning stars of the Mariinsky-Kirov
Opera and Ballet, such as Irma Nioradze (ballerina), Marianna Tarasova (mezzo
soprano), Vladimir Moroz (baritone), and British violin star Chloë, as well as other
leading British and Russian performers, including soloists from the Russian Chamber
Orchestra of London.
The concert will be followed by a dinner at the "People's Palace" restaurant,
also at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
The event will serve as a traditional Russian 'old' New Year party and also as
the first cultural event to be held in London to commemorate the 300th anniversary
of the founding of St. Petersburg.
Tickets for this exclusive and unique event, which includes the dinner following
the concert, cost £130, and proceeds from the evening will support our event
charity, Sterling Work for Russian Children.
