This indeed is a very good idea. We areconstantly getting some sales/ promotional emails that have nothing to do with the initial interests for which we have joined the list.
Many thanks for the initialtive and we should certainly do something about it.

Members of the list have doubtless been as irritated as I have over the past few days by the offensive spam we have received. I solved a similar problem when it afflicted the list I moderate, BalkanWomen, by monitoring all applications for membership and reporting suspicious applications to the server. The abuser eventually got tired of trying to sign up, and genuine prospective members do not seem to have been deterred. Might I suggest that East-West list adopts a similar policy?
