I agree. The piece is emeshed in bio-medical model terminology;
for example, suffering, infliction, etc. We might excuse his
ignorance as relective of his surroundings, that is, hegemonic
culture. Yet, with the views he holds on so-called male/female
dimorphism, and the comment he made at the end about 'those
social do gooders' (or to that effect), I doubt that he'd be easily
swayed on this position.
