CULTURE AND USER PARTICIPATION IN THE LIFE CYCLE

This project will focus on cross-cultural issues relating to user
participation within the design and evaluation of software systems:
It will further investigate both ways in which relevant knowledge can
be elicited to assist design, and how evaluation techniques meet
cultural requirements. A particular focus will be on user-centred
design and evaluation in India, and the research will benefit from
close links with the EU funded Indo European Systems Usability
Partnership project, which is being co-ordinated from the University
of Luton
This is a 2 or 3 year fixed term contract (subject to satisfactory
MPhil / PhD transfer)
Expertise required of applicants:
Good first degree in a discipline related to Computing / IT or
Psychology
Excellent IT skills
Interest in cross-cultural issues
Knowledge of the Indian sub-continent preferred
