Sheffield Direct Payment Scheme Steering Partnership
INDEPENDENT REVIEW - DIRECT PAYMENT SCHEME
Applications are invited from interested person/s to undertake an independent review of the Direct Payment Scheme in Sheffield. The scheme is currently funded by Sheffield City Council Social Services Directorate and provided by the Support Service based at Voluntary Action Sheffield.
The review is required to ensure that the needs of service users and potential service users are being met appropriately, that Government Legislation is being addressed and that the organisation of the scheme provides best value to service users and to the City Council.
Applicants must be committed to the social model of disability and have personal and practical knowledge of direct payments and the differing needs of people who access these. They must demonstrate excellent communication skills and experience of producing reports with clear recommendations.
It is expected that the report will be completed by the end of March 2003.
