ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
DEPARTMENT OF GEOGRAPHY
UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT
Tenure-track position at entry Assistant Professor level; to begin
August 2003. Department of Geography, University of Vermont, Burlington,
Vermont.
Broadly trained geographer with specialization in political ecology
and/or political economy.
The position involves teaching introductory courses and upper-division
courses in political ecology/ economy. Candidates must also be able to
offer a section of introductory "geotechniques" (a combined course in
GIS, cartography, remote sensing). Additionally, the department strongly
prefers candidates who are able to offer an introductory regional course
for a
region other than North America, Southern Africa or Western Europe.
Supervision of graduate students is anticipated.
PhD required by time of appointment.
