NUCCAT Workshop

Learning Files/Personal Development Plans

About the workshop leader: 
Dr John Peters is Deputy Director of the Learning and Teaching Centre at University College Worcester where he is responsible for the implementation of their Progress File System.  He is a National Teaching Fellowship Award holder (2001) based on his work on PDP and is also an active member of the Centre for Recording Achievement. He has been running projects and workshops on PDP and Progress Files since before they were taken seriously!

Objectives of the workshop:
 Participants will be enabled to: consider the extent to which their institution or subject area is prepared for the effective implementation of progress files in Higher Education; identify the educational benefits of personal development planning aspect of progress file; consider case studies of institutional practice; discuss emerging issues and challenges; share current practice and experience; develop strategies for effective support of student personal development planning.

Who is the workshop aimed at?
 Academics, practitioners, course leaders, staff and educational developers, quality managers, careers staff and anyone else with a role in supporting HE progress file, student personal development planning and learning from reflection.


This workshop is run, as the first of a series during 2003/03, by NUCCAT (Northern Universities Consortium for Credit Accumulaton and Transfer).

The attendance fee is £50.00 per workshop for delegates from NUCCAT member institutions and FE Colleges and £90.00 per workshop for delegates from non-member institutions.  This fee includes morning/afternoon refreshments and lunch (the delegate fee is not subject to VAT).
