Subject to budgetary approval, the Department of Psychology, Carleton
University wishes to make a tenure-track appointment in HCI at any
academic level, commensurate with experience, to begin July 1, 2003.
Applications from established researchers at the associate professor and
full professor level are encouraged. We are particularly interested in
individuals with research interests in multi-modal UI design, design
processes, navigation, HCI methodology, and User Needs Analysis.
The Department of Psychology has a strong graduate program in HCI and a
growing undergraduate HCI degree program. The Human Oriented Technology
Lab (formerly CURE), established in 1978, will be moving into a new,
well-equipped building fall 2003. Major research grants are in place for
five years to cover research on e-commerce and cybercartography. The HOT
Lab has excellent collaboration with Canadian industries.
Carleton, with an enrolment of about 20,000, is located in Ottawa, the
capital of Canada. Ottawa is a progressive city of 1 million with
excellent access to cultural and recreational activities. Further
