PLEASE help to publicise the ASMI annual conference which is less than
two weeks away now (Fri 22nd & Sat 23rd Nov).
On the Friday evening there will be a reception to mark 20 years of
ASMI. A presentation will be made to Christopher Seton-Watson who
founded the Association.
Remember it is cheaper if you register in advance this year!
Please encourage any students to attend and take advantage of reduced
rate for students.

programme and booking form as an attachment also. Please print out to
make copies available in your department common-rooms, noticeboards

Gender and the 'Private Sphere' in Italy:
Home, Family and Sexuality
Association for the Study of Modern Italy Annual Conference

This interdisciplinary conference will be a forum for debate on the role of
gender in the private sphere in 19th, 20th and 21st century Italy, with a
particular focus on the family and sexuality. Keynote speakers will be
sociologist Prof. Chiara Saraceno (University of Turin) and historians
Prof. Mary Gibson (John Jay College, New York) and Dr. Bruno Wanrooij
(Syracuse University, Florence).
