Hmmm... Can you do a thrombophilia screen during the acute phase and expect
meaningful results? I seem to recall a hematologist telling me no, because a
lot of clotting factors are acute phase reactants...I was advised previously
to anticoagulate a person for x amount of months as required, when fully
treated, take them off oral anticoagulants THEN do the the thrombophilia
screen.
I will ask our local hematologist this mane again.
