Theory doesn't have to contain statistical tests and be full of numbers to
be valid. After all, you practice Evidence Based Medicine based upon theory,
so why not Evidence Based Education?
Incidentally, if Adrian and me are boring you lot out there then let us
know. I hope not as I do enjoy a bit of banter with my old sparring
partner!!

OK Andy, I know where you're coming from, a genuine educationalist from a
so-called "non-teaching" hospital. I am in agreement there; good teachers
come from many sources, and not always from "teaching hospitals".
