John,
I think you will see the differences within C-I-SAID because not only does
it provide transcription, annotation and coding of audio and video it also
has other modules. It can provide analysis of audio in terms of pitch
frequency volume etc. There is a complete content analysis module (the
lexicon). Its coding can be in the form of free text annotation, or in
terms of categorisation methods. Annotation can be automatically turned
into categorisation. The analysis side also provides quantitative
methods - including sequential analysis.
For the rest of the list - just because I have sold my books I have not
completely retired but am taking life much easier.
Regards
Alan Cartwright
