Dear All,
I am seeking help on two issues related to social inclusion.
1. Does anyone have a procedure or policy for providing services to
people who are homeless? This may relate to changes to joining procedures
generally. I know a number of authorities have been looking at this issue
and any background would help. Any examples would be very helpful.
2. Newspapers for refugees and asylum seekers. We are looking at
providing newspapers for Albanian, Afghanastani and Bosnian communities. We
have the names from people in the community via our Refugee Officer. The
problem is finding a supplier. We have drawn a blank with local newsagent
and with Menzies who supply most newspapers locally. The only other place
we have found is Dover Market - not a practical option. Do any libraries
take newspapers for these communities and do you have a supplier we could
use. We are also tring to contact embassies to see if they can help.
Many thanks,
Alison Cairns.
