Eye Movement Researchers
This is to give you notice that the web site for the 12th meeting of the
European Conference on Eye Movements (ECEM12) is now operational.
The Conference will take place in the West Park Conference Centre, Dundee
from 20-24 August 2003. Initial Registration is in the afternoon of
Wednesday 20th August. Parallel sessions of presentations will take place
from Thursday 21st to after lunch on Sunday 24th. There will also be Poster
presentations each day of the Conference.
The Conference Centre belongs to the University of Dundee and provides
accommodation ranging from full en suite rooms to more modest student rooms.
The Centre has two fully-equipped lecture theatres, small committee rooms,
and space for posters and equipment demonstrations. There are bar and
restaurant facilities on the site. The City of Dundee is on the East coast
of Scotland, about 50 miles north of Edinburgh. It is on the main East
Coast rail line and has excellent road and air links either via Edinburgh or
directly to Dundee Airport (which connects with London City and Manchester
Airport).
The Opening Reception will be in the evening of Wednesday 20th August and
the Conference Dinner on Friday 22nd. Excursions to the local glens,
including a guided tour round a Scotch Whisky distillery will be organised
in the afternoon of Saturday 23rd.

During the Conference there will be three half-day Thematic Sessions on the
following topics.
Eye tracking studies of speech processing (Chaired and organised by Antje
Meyer, Birmingham)
Eye movements, virtual reality and dynamic scene perception (Chaired and
organised by Peter De Graef, Leuven)
Brain mapping of oculomotor cortex (Chaired and organised by Bob Rafal,
Bangor, and John Findlay, Durham)
Papers and Poster presentations are now invited. Proposals for symposia
(4/5 related 20 minute contributions, together with discussion) should be
submitted to the organisers in the first instance.

Submission deadline is 31 January 2003. Registration for the Conference
must also be made via the web site. The tariff includes accommodation, all
meals (other than the Conference Dinner, which is charged separately),
interval refreshments, transport to venues during the Conference, the
Opening Reception, and all Conference documentation. Participants are
reminded that the venue has a limited capacity and registration will be
dealt with on a first-come-first-served basis. There is a discount for
early registration.
