Dear all,
I am forwarding this message from the children-media discussion
list as I think it might be of particular interest to Early Childhood
people. (Apologies for cross posting to anyone who belongs to
both lists.)
Best wishes,

Hi there,
Our Theatre Company, C&T, are currently developing a new
Theatre-in-Education project for pre-school children. The project will
create an interactive online learning environment that will draw on
participatory drama techniques, creative play and puppetry. The aim is
through play to create characters, contexts and stories and then develop
these as learning tools through puppets, digital and flash animation
online.
As a consequence, we are interested in two things:
Firstly, any research people know of that explores how children draw on
media properties (Teletubbies, Tweenies, Toy Story, etc) in their own
creative play. I'm particularly interested in how toys (merchandise)
interplay with these media-based 'dramas'.
Secondly, we're looking to develop the project as an EU funded
partnership, so if anyone knows of anyone out there in the UK or Europe
interested in this sort of thing - please let me know!
Best wishes
Paul
