hosts a seminar by
Dr. Kathy Hopkins, Director of NILD
Efficient Learning has been working with children and adults with Learning Difficulties in the Thame area since 1996. In 2001 EL began to offer a programme of intervention developed by The National Institute for Learning Disabilities. NILD was established in 1982 to meet the needs of students with Learning Disabilities through a unique program of educational intervention. This programme has been in operation in the USA and other countries since the 1960s.
The Efficient Learning Programme, using NILD techniques alongside other widely recognised methods, utilises a variety of academic and perceptual techniques to address the students' areas of weakness and to develop efficient, accurate thinking. As perceptual and thinking skills improve, students are then able to learn on their own without the aid of tutoring or modifications and are free to use their abilities to the fullest.
