I'm doing some research on the concept of "ability" as a category (as
understood sort of like gender or race) and wonder if people know about any
relevant articles or books. If there are any treatments of what ability
"is", its history, how it is understood, etc. I'm especially interested in
how it has a strong moral component (ability is what gets you to succeed,
and if you succeed you must have ability, which means you must be better
than other people that don't succeed). My searches only bring up
positivistic, educational oriented stuff on students' ability.
