I figure this is a good place to ask for a factoid I need for
an intro I'm writing to sterilization-related article. Does
anyone out there have a state-by-state breakdown of the
numbers of people sterilized in the United States under
the eugenics laws?
I'm specifically looking for the total sterilized in Oklahoma.
I have the numbers up to 1938, thanks to a pamphlet
published in that year by the Human Betterment Foundation.
Anyone out there have a tally that dates to the 1960s or 1970s?
As usual, I'm operating under a tight deadline and would love to
get whatever info by Friday the 18th if possible. If not, I'll go with
the 1938 number.
I naively assumed this information would be easier to find than has
been the case.
Thanks in advance.
