Excerpts from the Adept Scientific newsletter:

1)==================MATHCAD OR EXCEL?==================

Use the link below to take you to a new page on our website that argues
the reasons why all engineers should opt for Mathcad instead of (or as a
supplement to) Excel. Mathcad is a purpose-built software package designed with
the needs of engineering professionals in mind. It has a number of unique
features, such as the ability to write in natural maths notation or even hide
password-protected parts of your worksheet that contain information you do not
want others to see, that make Mathcad a better fit for your technical software
requirements.

For full information go to

          http://www.adeptscience.co.uk/go?pg=P43

3)=====SPECIAL OFFERS EXTENDED TO 31ST OCTOBER 2002=====

We are pleased to say that our Summer Special offers were very well
received. In light of this, we have managed to work out an extension to
those offers, pushing the deadline back until 31st October 2002, to enable all
those people who might have been on holiday or away from the office over the
summer period, to take advantage of the huge savings.

ii) MATHCAD 2001i PREMIUM UPGRADE

Until the 31st October it costs the same to upgrade to Mathcad 2001i
Premium (just £199) as it does to upgrade to Mathcad 2001i Professional.
This means you save £150 on the standard upgrade price of Mathcad Premium,
whilst getting a lot more for your money. Mathcad 2001i Premium includes VisSim
Plus, Axum 7, SmartSketch 4 and the 'Solving and Optimisation' Extension pack.

iv) MATHCAD 2001i PRICED FOR EDUCATION OFFERS

Get your copy of Mathcad 2001i Priced for Education (PFE) for just £199
(normal price £299) or if you are currently using a Mathcad academic
licence, you can upgrade to Mathcad 2001i PFE for £69 (normally £139).
This offer is only open to academic and research staff and students
working for, or enrolled at, bona fide educational institutions in the
United Kingdom.

For further information about what you get for your money (Mathcad 2001i
PFE includes an excellent bonus pack) go to

4)==============MATHCAD TRAINING DAYS==============

Mathcad training takes the form of a 2-day course suitable for both the
new or occasional user of Mathcad and the more experienced user; anyone
who is looking to discover more about Mathcad's wide functionality and
increase productivity with the software. The course is structured so that
you are free to attend either just one or both days. You can book both
days at £575 + VAT or just the one day at £295 + VAT. The training takes
place at our offices in Letchworth, Hertfordshire.

DAY ONE:
Getting to Grips with Mathcad gives you a 'kick start' in acquainting
yourself with the software. It covers The Mathcad Environment, Entering
and Editing Arithmetic Expressions, Entering and Editing Text, The Mathcad
Document, Functions, Units and Dimensions and Plotting in Mathcad.

DAY TWO:
Exploring Mathcad extends your practical skills into the use of Mathcad's
more sophisticated capabilities to help you create your own sophisticated
applications. It includes a Review of Day 1, Calculus, Matrices and
Vectors, Solving Equations, Data Import, Export & Analysis and Creating
Animations.

The next Mathcad training takes place on WEDNESDAY 16th and THURSDAY 17th
OCTOBER 2002, or at a slightly later date of WEDNESDAY 13TH AND THURSDAY
14TH NOVEMBER 2002
.
