Hi All,
I would like to add the following to the discussion:
BPR is normally a project that is undertaken to find out and correct
process problems or improve processes, due to bad business performance,
customer complaints, bad quality or before making major changes like
introduction of an ERP system.
BPM is the continual process of managing process and organisational
changes.
Though a major part of business process may involve IT, not all business
process problems lies in IT or the lack of having IT solutions. And IT is
not the solution to all your business problems.
Therefore, it is good to do the first phase BPR (AS-IS & TO-BE1) without
much focus on IT, to be followed with a second phase BPR (TO-BE1 -> TO-
BE2), whereby there is a heavy focus on IT issues.
