We currently have no legal expenses cover, but are looking to put this in
place as we are currently in the middle of a wrangle over alleged copyright
infringement. A slight problem we have is that potential insurers require
sight of the past five years litigation history, which is proving rather
difficult to piece together, as we do not have a central record.

Dear Listmembers,
It's time to revive admin-finance after its recent aestivation!
We're reconsidering our legal expenses insurance in respect of
disputes with students, and I'm writing to ask what cover and
limits of indemnity you have.
At present our cover is limited to £1m in aggregate for disputes
over exam results, but I can think of a number of areas in
which disputes might arise (and I don't claim that the list is
exhaustive):
- allegations of sexual harassment and improper relationships
- unresolved complaints
- need to take out injunctions against violent students or those
who damage property
- dealing with students who fail to pay rent or fees
