Actually, it means the patient doesn't have an acute coronary syndrome and
is thus suitable for outpatient management. OK, it does predict mortality.
But best of all it is a highly sensitive test for picking up patients who
require hospital admission. Would make my life easier if I had more such
tests. I'm perfectly happy discharging patients with stable angina to GP or
chest pain clinic for further investigation. This test lets me do that.
