I'm pretty sure that no one has tackled this subject on the list yet.
Apologies if it has been covered and I missed it.
Writing as a pre-hospital care "virgin", has anyone ocnsidered the possible
implications of the fire and rescue service strike yet?
For example...
Trapped casualty, no extrication trained operators or equipment, fuel
spillage, vehicle unstable on its side, scene not safe. Call comes though
requesting additional medical / paramedical personnel to treat trapped
patients because they can't get them out.
Problems:
1. Increased risk to healthcare personnel
2. How are they going to get the trapped casualties out?
Whatever your opinions of the rights or wrongs of the proposed strike, this
is perhaps a subject worth a thought.

PS Every cloud has a silver lining: apparently the on call managers are
going to have to be resident for 24 hours during the strike - to show the
armed forces personnel where the hydrants (etc) are.
