Don't you think they should be concentrating on the basics. Enough nurses, docs and beds. Abandon trolley waits and then we have move from a third world and I emphasise the word third world service then and only then can we start looking a door to needle times. I'm afraid it is only a paper exercise and exploding pie charts do not fool the public or me.
Many A & E depts. have gone on respite over the past few weeks due to exceptional demand. How can you hit door to needle targets of 20 mins in that sort of situation. In some circumstances we'll be lucky to hit them in days not hours.
