The Centre for Social & Policy Research conducts interdisciplinary research
and has a strong track record in gender research. Two Researchers are
required for a qualitative study exploring barriers to women's employment in
the North East of England. This study is funded by the European Social Fund
and aims to research and document the difficulties that women experience in
the labour market which may prevent their participation and progression.
These barriers can include informational, educational, social, community and
organisational as well as financial. The Researchers will play a key part
in the design and delivery of the research, including contributing the
collection, collation, analysis and writing up of qualitative data. You
would work as part of a research and administrative team under the
supervision of experienced researchers.
With a good first degree in Social Sciences and preferably a relevant
postgraduate qualification, or equivalent, you should have excellent
communication skills and well developed analytical and writing skills.
Knowledge of research on gender and/or employment is also desirable.
